We received a new complaint:
I want to share a serious warning about a scam I fell victim to, involving a website called booking-389.com. This scam is cleverly disguised as a task platform for booking sites, where they promise you can earn commissions by completing tasks. Initially, it seems legitimate because they allow you to withdraw funds, making you believe it’s a genuine opportunity. However, the scam quickly escalates with demands for more and more deposits to “cover the merchant,” with false assurances that all funds will be returned.
The scam involves a series of transactions where victims are led to convert and send significant amounts of cryptocurrency (ETH and USDC) to the scammer’s address, under the guise of completing tasks for commissions. Despite making multiple transactions with the hope of retrieving my investment, the demands never ceased, and the promised returns never materialized.
This scam preys on trust and the allure of easy money, and I deeply regret falling for it. I even considered sending more money even after realizing it might be a scam. The shame and financial recklessness this scam has led me to are overwhelming, and I’m currently hiding this situation from my husband.
