Scam Type: Romance-Based Crypto Investment Fraud
Platform Involved: quinpinsqy (unverified third-party app)
Exchange Used: Bitvavo (for initial funding)
Reported Wallet:0x9f6b33716e0ba165e51172ac8fa15e30a295ab52
Status: Victim unable to withdraw funds after large gainsDescription:
The victim met a woman on Tinder who later moved the conversation to WhatsApp and encouraged participation in cryptocurrency trading. She introduced the victim to Bitvavo (a legitimate exchange) and a suspicious trading app called quinpinsqy. Motivated by screenshots showing high profits, the victim installed the app independently, without sharing login credentials.Funds were transferred from Bitvavo to quinpinsqy, and early trades appeared to be profitable. However, once a significant balance was reached, withdrawal attempts failed, and the app stopped functioning. This setup aligns with a typical romance scam, where fake trading platforms simulate earnings but ultimately lock or steal the deposited assets.
