A victim from FL, USA (32435) was scammed out of $1,000 after being asked to pay application fees to open an account on a fake Coinbase Prime website. After the payment, the account was opened, but the provided phone number for support never worked. The victim’s attempts to contact the scammers via email to get a refund and close the account were unsuccessful.
