Please be advised of a reported cryptocurrency scam involving a website called Peacenex.com, falsely promoting a Bitcoin giveaway. Victims are lured with the promise of free Bitcoin, only to find themselves ensnared in a sophisticated deception.
Scam Details:
- Scam Website: Peacenex.com
- Tactic: Victims are told they have won $10,000 in Bitcoin and are directed to the site to claim it. The site appears legitimate and displays a wallet balance.
- Catch: Upon attempting to withdraw the funds, victims are told they must first become “verified” and are asked to send $202 to “unlock” their wallet.
- Communication: Victims who engage with the site’s chat feature are contacted by someone named “Sam,” who attempts to facilitate the scam.

- Personal Information Compromised: Legal name, email address, and potentially IP information.
- Follow-Up: After requesting account closure, the victim began receiving non-stop emails about various money-receiving schemes, none of which were directed to spam.
