On November 15, 2024, we received a report of an investment scam, commonly known as a “pig butchering” scam, that resulted in a loss of $176,210. The victim explained that they had transferred $180,000 to a cryptocurrency wallet associated with the scam. After the initial transfer, the scammers demanded an additional payment of $84,441 to release the funds, claiming that this payment was necessary to withdraw the money.
The blockchain addresses linked to the scam are 0x6f0a7d1d7a22b5ec92e09134cfda51241e49532a, 0x4821e991501f76a99a80dd9c965e19069861ae48, and 0x07126e018493de290b5ba7b0ec38f12f4f4d0afc.
The fraudulent activity was carried out through the website d.defitan.com.
