We recently received a complaint about a scam involving Digital Commerce Group. According to the information provided, the victim was contacted through a website that has since changed its address multiple times, first operating as digitalcommercer.com and later digitalcommerceaeo.com.
They were persuaded to invest significant cryptocurrency, including funds on popular platforms like Coinbase and Crypto.com.
Over four transactions, the victim was deceived into sending the scammers approximately $85,000 worth of Bitcoin and USDT.
The scam followed a typical pattern of manipulating the victim emotionally, mainly through a fake mentorship chat and fabricated promises of employment opportunities.
A love angle was also injected into the communication, designed to build a deeper connection and further exploit the victim’s trust.
The scammers even altered the appearance of their website to maintain the facade of legitimacy, adding layers to their deception by presenting a supposed Canadian business license and other fake documentation.
As the victim continued engaging with the fraudulent platform, they realized they had been scammed only after trying to retrieve their funds.
Despite several attempts to contact the scammers for explanations, their efforts were met with silence or further requests for additional fees to process withdrawals.
The victim expressed deep regret and described how the scammers preyed on their vulnerability and financial desperation.
We believe this is a well-organized scam. The shifting website, fake mentorship program, and emotional manipulation are all red flags that point to a structured fraud operation.
Based on the patterns we’ve seen, it’s highly unlikely that this operation was legitimate, and any promises of employment or financial returns were part of the deception from the start.
