I recently fell victim to what I believe is a crypto investment scam operated through the website Netzeffekt-nl.com. Initially, I was drawn in by promises of impressive returns and a seemingly professional website that encouraged me to invest. However, after transferring several amounts of cryptocurrency—0.91392 ETH, 0.749 ETH, and 0.39251 ETH to the address 0x2553a4de8bb38951b0929a9b5892ed71f927d384—things quickly started to feel suspicious.

Despite the platform’s promises of high returns and easy withdrawal, it became evident that my funds were essentially inaccessible. The customer support team ceased responding to my inquiries once I expressed concerns, and any information on the platform’s promised returns abruptly disappeared.

Netzeffekt-nl.com operates similarly to other fraudulent crypto schemes: it lures investors with attractive but unrealistic returns, only to disappear with their funds. I hope sharing my story here will prevent others from making the same mistake and falling for this scam. Always be cautious and conduct thorough research before investing in crypto platforms, especially if they promise unrealistic results.

        Call me stupid

I have learnt my lesson:  if it’s too good to be true, it’s too good to be true and most like a scammer preying on the gullible.

I was contacted by someone offering me a part time job online to rate apps.  Seems simple enough with high returns.  With an initial 100 US $ deposit of  ETH or BTC I could complete 3 missions with a commission of about $30 US.  Well I fell for the scale when I was sent a special promotion where a $1500 US $ deposit of ETH could yield a higher commission/ but got 2 lucky mission which escalated to almost a -20k Us balance of which they said I need deposit 100% to unlock and withdraw.  By this time I realized it was a scam.

Important to protect yourself and report to local police, local and national credit union for loss of personal information, also the exchange with which cryptocurrency was purchased.  Also report to better business bureau, etc.

It is sad that there are scammers prying on people like me who are at retirement age:(

Thank you for sharing your experience with Netzeffekt-nl.com. Scammers often use a blend of professional-looking websites, fake job offers, and high-promise schemes to lure victims into depositing more funds. It sounds like their tactic of ‘unlocking’ accounts by demanding additional deposits after reaching a negative balance is especially manipulative.

From the screenshots you shared, we can see how they initially approved small withdrawals (e.g., $130, $179.61, $127.59) to build trust. However, they then turned down larger withdrawal requests, like $20,622.70 and $7,702.70, without providing a reason. This is a common tactic to create a sense of credibility at first, only to later block larger withdrawals and request even more funds to supposedly ‘unlock’ the account.

We also noticed the message from ‘Rachel from Indeed’ offering you a job. Scammers often impersonate trusted platforms like Indeed to add legitimacy to their approach. Offering freelance jobs with promises of easy tasks and high commissions is a tactic to bait people with small gains and then escalate to large deposit demands.

We strongly encourage you to report this scam to your local authorities, the cryptocurrency exchange you used, and financial institutions like your credit union.

I am in the same predicament. I only joined this group last week, and have $thousands locked up in my work account behind demands to pay a large ‘deposit’ due to a ‘Lucky’ task that hit my account. Could I have a live call with you? I am trying to decide how to deal with this.
