We’ve received a complaint about a scam involving the website NRGBit.com (NRG Global).
NRG Global – Case Study
The victim was deceived into transferring $30,000 through three separate transactions.
The transfers were made using a credit/debit card and converted into USDT (Tether) on the Binance exchange.
All funds were directed to crypto addresses associated with the fraudulent site.
The victim was initially led to believe they were making legitimate investments.
However, as often occurs in scams of this nature, they encountered issues when trying to withdraw funds, with the scammers imposing additional charges under the guise of taxes or commissions to release the money.
The scam began over two months ago, and communication with the scammer occurred through the NRGBit platform.
The fraudsters promised high returns on investment, creating a sense of urgency to invest more to supposedly “unlock” their earnings.
Unfortunately, the victim realized something was wrong after being repeatedly asked for more money to cover these fabricated fees.
Once the victim stopped sending funds, all communication ceased, and the scammer disappeared, leaving no way to recover the lost money.
We urge you to stay vigilant when dealing with online investment platforms like NRGBit.com, particularly those offering unrealistic returns.
Always ensure that any investment platform is legitimate before transferring any funds, and consult a professional if you’re unsure about its authenticity.
It’s crucial to recognize that scams like these prey on your trust, and once the money has been sent, recovering it through traditional methods becomes incredibly difficult.
Is NRGBit a Scam?
In this case, the evidence strongly points to a classic investment scam.
The sudden requests for extra fees, the inability to withdraw funds, and the vanishing act once the victim refuses to pay more are all hallmarks of this type of fraud.
If you have encountered similar tactics or are currently involved with NRGBit.com or any other dubious platform, we recommend contacting an investigator immediately to trace the cryptocurrency and potentially recover some of the funds.
Proceed with caution, and remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is.
If you have been scammed, we offer crypto tracing services.
