I received an email from an unusual address claiming that I had invested in Bitcoin, which was true, but the email itself appeared suspicious. The email included screenshots and stated that I had accumulated $40,000. It originated from an HTTPS address linked to a Google script and carried a disclaimer that Google had not endorsed the app – a major red flag. It prompted me to click a link to fill out a form to access the money, which I did not do. Coincidentally, within the last month, I also encountered a fake CVS Gift Card scam. Typically, I don’t receive such emails. The last one seemed to be part of the crypto scam, but I am unable to locate the email now. It was a Google script that gave the illusion of live correspondence, but it was merely a script.
