I had always trusted major crypto news websites to keep me informed. So when I came across a breaking news article on “CryptoInsider.io” stating that Tesla was launching a Bitcoin investment platform, I was intrigued. The article had a video of Elon Musk explaining how investors could earn passive income by depositing Bitcoin into Tesla’s blockchain network.

The website looked identical to major crypto news sites, even featuring articles from real reporters I had followed before. The article provided a link to Tesla’s official investment portal, where users could deposit BTC and earn guaranteed returns.

The minimum deposit was 0.5 BTC ($15,000 at the time). The offer was limited to the first 1,000 investors, so I acted quickly and sent the funds.

Days passed, and when I tried to check my investment, the website had disappeared. The so-called “news site” was actually a fake domain registered by scammers to mimic real crypto news platforms.

I later found out that hundreds of people had fallen for the same scam, losing millions in total. The entire operation had been a well-planned phishing attack, and I had walked right into it.

          Hi Connor,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience. Scammers have become increasingly sophisticated, often creating fake news websites and impersonating high-profile figures like Elon Musk to gain credibility. Promises of guaranteed returns, especially linked to well-known brands like Tesla, are common tactics used to rush people into quick decisions.

If you have any additional information—such as the website URL, the Bitcoin wallet address used, or screenshots of the article and “investment portal”—please share them. These details can help us investigate further and alert others to avoid falling into the same trap.

If you need guidance on reporting the scam or securing your accounts, we’re here to help.

          Stay safe,
          Adam – ScamCrypto.net
