We received a complaint from someone scammed after being promised profits from an online trading investment. The scammer used the name “George Walker” and contacted the victim via email, using
georgewalker@worldwidetrade.io
. They also communicated through WhatsApp using the number +447529638791. The scammer directed the victim to a website, worldwidetrade.io, which does not exist, further supporting that this was fraudulent. The scam unfolded as the victim was convinced to invest money, with promises of returns from trading activities.
However, after investing $600, the victim realized that the website and email addresses provided were fake, and there was no way to withdraw any funds.
No actual trading occurred, and communication ceased when the victim attempted to inquire about their investment.
Based on the information provided, this is a classic investment scam.
Red flags include using a nonexistent website, providing fake contact details, and promoting upfront investment without actual financial activity.
If you encounter similar situations, especially those involving unverified trading platforms or pressure to invest without proper documentation, they are strong indications of a scam.
FCA Warning Regarding Worldwide Trade
While this happened over a year ago, we’re bringing it up due to FCA’s recent warning regarding this firm.
According to the warning, this scam involves a clone firm operating under Worldwide Trade, which fraudulently claims to be associated with an FCA-authorized company.
This is a classic case of a clone firm, where fraudsters copy the details of a legitimate company to trick people into believing they are dealing with an authorized firm. The actual company, Tradelink Worldwide Limited, has no connection to this scam. The scammers falsely represent themselves to gain trust and defraud victims of their money.
Is WorldWideTrade.io Legit?
In conclusion, this case presents all the hallmarks of a fraudulent investment scheme. We advise anyone contacted by similar email addresses or phone numbers to avoid further engagement. If you’ve already lost money, report the incident to relevant authorities or seek professional help to trace and recover your funds. Always verify the legitimacy of trading platforms before investing to avoid falling victim to scams like this.
