While browsing Twitter, I received a message from someone claiming to be Elon Musk. The message stated that he occasionally gives away bitcoins to random Twitter users. Following the instructions provided, along with a personal code to claim the bitcoins, I entered my email address and name. To access the supposed reward, I had to create an account on the site, where they credited bitcoins to my new account. However, realizing the potential risk, I contacted them to express my disinterest in the bitcoins and requested the deletion of my account, but they refused to comply. I’m uncertain about their intentions and admittedly lack knowledge about bitcoins. After reporting to Twitter, it was confirmed that the ad was fake. This raises concerns about what the scammers might want from me.
