Description of the Scam: An individual received an email falsely claiming to be from PayPal concerning a Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency transaction. The email instructed the victim to call a provided phone number. Upon contacting the number, the victim spoke with an individual with a foreign accent who identified himself as part of the victim’s local credit union. The victim was deceived into providing their Social Security number during the call.
