Community Question: Would you send crypto to a wallet you couldn’t verify?

I was thinking about this after reviewing a wallet address that someone shared with me during an investment discussion.

Before sending anything, I opened a blockchain explorer to see whether there was anything unusual.

The wallet had a long transaction history.

Funds were arriving from many different addresses.

Shortly afterward, most of those funds were transferred elsewhere.

None of that automatically means the wallet was involved in fraudulent activity.

At the same time, I couldn’t find any information explaining why so many unrelated payments were flowing through the same address.

That left me wondering how other people approach situations like this.

Do you simply trust the person providing the wallet?

Do you always check blockchain activity first?

Or do you avoid sending funds altogether if you cannot understand what you’re seeing?

Personally, I have started asking myself a few questions before every transfer.

Has this address appeared in previous public discussions?

Does the transaction history look consistent with what I’ve been told?

Is there anything unusual about the timing or movement of funds?

If I still feel uncertain after checking those things, I simply wait.

The blockchain is transparent for a reason.

Even if transaction history cannot identify the owner of a wallet, it can sometimes provide useful context before making a financial decision.

I would be interested to know how others approach this.

Have you ever changed your mind about sending cryptocurrency after reviewing a wallet’s transaction history?

What information do you usually check first?
