“Profits” Stopped Growing the Moment He Refused to Deposit More

Something about this case didn’t make sense to me at first.

For nearly three weeks, the account seemed incredibly active.

Monday: profit added.
Wednesday: another successful trade.
Friday: balance increased again.

The account manager regularly sent messages like:

“Excellent market today. Your strategy performed very well.”

The investor started with around $700, and before long the dashboard showed more than $2,100.

Then the manager suggested adding another $2,000.

The investor said no.

He wanted to continue trading with the money already showing in the account.

That’s when things became strangely quiet.

No new trades.

No profit updates.

No morning messages from the manager.

After several days, the investor asked:

“Why isn’t my account trading anymore?”

The answer was that his current balance was apparently too small for the new market conditions.

That was odd because the same balance had supposedly been generating profits just days earlier.

Then came the solution:

Deposit another $2,000 and trading can resume immediately.

Instead, he requested a withdrawal.

Suddenly, the account required a “portfolio review.”

At this point, he started questioning whether the numbers he’d been watching on the dashboard represented genuine trading activity at all.

And I think that’s the useful part of this story.

When looking at a trading platform, don’t only watch the balance.

Ask what independently supports the activity being shown.

Can trades be verified?

Are transaction records meaningful?

Does the explanation remain consistent when you stop adding money?

A dashboard can display numbers moving up and down.

That alone doesn’t tell you what’s actually happening behind them.

In this case, the supposed trading activity continued while new deposits were being discussed.

The moment the investor said “I’m not adding more,” everything changed.

Sometimes saying no reveals more than saying yes.
