Wallet Address Was Posted by an Admin — But Which Admin?

I came across a case where a Telegram investment group had four administrator accounts.

Same company logo.

Similar usernames.

Same style of profile description.

A member wanted to make a deposit and asked for the USDT address.

One admin replied publicly with a wallet.

Five minutes later, another “admin” sent him a private message:

“Please don’t use the address posted in the group. That’s temporarily under maintenance. Use this one instead.”

Two wallet addresses.

Now the member wasn’t sure what to do.

He asked in the public group which address was correct.

His message disappeared.

Then the private admin became impatient:

“Finance is waiting. Complete the transaction now or today’s trading position will close.”

Fortunately, the member didn’t send anything.

He started comparing the administrator accounts instead.

That’s when he noticed something tiny.

The genuine-looking username ended with:

…Support

The private account ended with:

…Supp0rt

A zero instead of the letter o.

Easy to miss on a phone screen.

I think this is a useful example because people often concentrate entirely on checking the wallet address.

But there’s another question that comes first:

Who actually gave you that address?

You can copy a wallet perfectly and still send money to the wrong person if the source of the payment instructions isn’t genuine.

If conflicting wallet addresses appear, I wouldn’t choose one and hope for the best.

Stop.

Verify the administrator through an independent channel.

Save both addresses.

Screenshot the conflicting instructions.

And don’t let a supposed trading deadline decide how quickly you verify a payment.

Check the address, but check the person providing it too.
