The “Insurance Fee” Appeared Only After the Profit Got Bigger

This case followed a slightly different path.

The investor started with $300.

Nothing dramatic happened. The account slowly increased, and after a while the dashboard showed around $470.

Then the account manager suggested a larger position.

The investor added more funds.

A few weeks later, the displayed balance had reached approximately $7,800.

That’s when he decided he’d done well enough.

He requested a withdrawal.

Support replied:

“Your account has exceeded the standard withdrawal threshold and requires investment insurance.”

Investment insurance?

This was the first time he’d heard about it.

Apparently, accounts above $5,000 needed to be insured before profits could leave the platform.

The cost:

$640

The investor asked why the insurance hadn’t been mentioned when his balance crossed $5,000.

No clear answer.

He then asked whether the $640 could simply be taken from the $7,800 already showing in his account.

Again:

No.

The insurance payment had to come from an external wallet.

At this point, he went back through the platform’s terms and searched for words like insurance, withdrawal threshold, and $5,000.

He couldn’t find the requirement.

That doesn’t automatically tell us everything about a platform, but I think it gives us a useful question to ask whenever a new charge suddenly appears:

Was this condition disclosed before the money was deposited?

Fees are one thing.

Rules that appear only after someone asks for their money are another.

I’d also be cautious when a charge is described with an official-sounding name but nobody can provide documentation explaining who requires it or why.

Insurance fee. Compliance deposit. Security bond. Blockchain clearance.

The terminology may change.

The important part is understanding exactly what you’re being asked to pay for before sending another transaction.

If a fee wasn’t visible when you entered, investigate carefully when it suddenly appears at the exit.
