Fake Token Airdrop That Drained My Wallet
I saw a Twitter post from a well-known blockchain company offering a free airdrop of their new token. The post linked to a website that looked identical to the real company’s website.

To claim my airdrop, I had to:

Connect my MetaMask wallet
Sign a smart contract to verify ownership
Approve unlimited token spending
Moments after I signed the transaction, my entire wallet was emptied. The scammers had used a malicious contract that granted them full control of my assets.

The Twitter account? Fake. The website? A phishing copy. I had just given scammers direct access to my funds.

What I Learned
✔ Never connect your wallet to unknown sites.
✔ Legitimate airdrops never ask for spending approvals.
✔ Always check URLs carefully. Fake websites often have minor differences in domain names.
