On November 15, 2024, we received a report of an investment scam involving a loss of $1,507,000.
The victim was drawn into an arbitrage scheme through the platform interest-web3.net, transferring funds via digital transfer from their crypto.com Tether wallet and by direct wire transfer from their bank. As the victim continued to deposit funds into what was presented as a liquidity pool, their account balance grew to approximately $2,480,000, including interest. However, when attempting to withdraw funds, the platform blocked the withdrawal, stating that the principal deposit alone needed to meet a $2,000,000 threshold.
The scammers also claimed additional taxes and a 10% fee were required to complete the withdrawal, further preventing the victim from accessing any of their funds.
This report highlights the significant losses and deceptive tactics used by the platform, with the victim seeking assistance in retrieving their money and warning others about interest-web3.net.
