In October 2023, several reviews were posted with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) regarding a cryptocurrency scam at wintcoin.com and wintcoins.com.
The first complaint from October 10, 2023, was filed by a person from Iowa who reported being scammed for $10000 at wintcoins.com:
I deposited money onto the WINT platform – m.wintcoins.com between August 30 and September 25, totaling $6,000. It appeared to be a legitimate cryptocurrency exchange. To test its legitimacy, I successfully withdrew money a few days after my initial deposit, which led me to believe it was genuine. I discovered the platform through an Instagram ad, which directed me to a WhatsApp group. In this group, a “professor” analyzed the market and posted 1-2 trade alerts daily. Despite seeming somewhat scammy, I saw no immediate red flags since they weren’t directly asking for money, the exchange functioned properly, and withdrawals were initially successful. Thus, I proceeded with caution but continued trading. Eventually, my account grew to around $10,000, which is when the dynamics of the WhatsApp group shifted, and they began aggressively promoting one-on-one trading. When I expressed a desire to proceed slowly and focus on learning, their tone changed to criticism for not wanting to earn more money. This led me to cease trading and attempt to withdraw my funds, which is when the problems began. Withdrawal attempts failed, and the support link within the app redirected me to their Telegram. Initially, they claimed my account was under review and approval would take time, but my withdrawal never processed, and they ceased responding. After contacting the “assistant” associated with the “professor,” she claimed my account was suspicious and demanded a 25% deposit into a special wallet for verification, promising an immediate refund and withdrawal processing. Recognizing the scam, I refused to comply, and she blamed me for not cooperating to access my funds. Currently, my money remains unwithdrawable in the account, with support unresponsive and the WhatsApp group assistant suggesting she can facilitate the withdrawal, a route I am unwilling to take, knowing it would likely result in further loss.
The scammer’s phone number was reported to be 1 (518) 364-8966
Then, on October 16, 2023, two additional complaints were filed regarding wintcoin.com; the first by a person from California who encountered a cryptocurrency scam in which the website wants money to withdraw funds:
I was introduced to a trading stock group through a website and WhatsApp, where they began crypto trading. I received a link to join this group, and after consulting with existing members who appeared legitimate, I proceeded to create an account on the

trading platform. Subsequently, I transferred BTC from my Robinhood crypto account to my new wallet on Wintcoin. However, when I attempted to withdraw funds, they demanded a 20% additional commission to be paid into their wallet. It was at this moment that I began to suspect foul play, but by then, I had already deposited $125,400, realizing too late that something was amiss.Scammer information:
