Why do so many scam platforms look active right before they disappear?

This is something I have been wondering about recently.

After reading multiple scam reports, I noticed that many victims describe the same experience. They say the platform looked busiest right before the problems started.

At first, I thought this was just a coincidence. Then I started comparing different reports.

In several cases, users mentioned seeing frequent updates, active support responses, promotional campaigns, and even new features being announced shortly before withdrawal issues appeared.

One example involved a platform that launched a referral bonus program only weeks before users started reporting delays. Another case included a new mobile application release shortly before the website stopped responding altogether.

The more examples I looked at, the more I started thinking that increased activity may actually create confidence. New users see promotions and updates and assume the business is growing.

Meanwhile, existing users become less suspicious because everything appears normal on the surface.

Of course, not every active platform is a scam. Many legitimate companies release updates and marketing campaigns regularly.

The difference seems to be transparency.

Legitimate businesses usually provide verifiable company information, public communication channels, and consistent explanations when problems occur.

Suspicious platforms often rely heavily on appearances while providing very little independent verification.

I am curious whether others have noticed the same pattern.

Have you ever seen a platform become more active just before major withdrawal problems or shutdowns were reported?
