      Hello everyone,

I’m here to share a rather distressing experience and seek any advice or support you might have. Recently, I fell victim to an online scam that involved a hacked Facebook account, which I believed belonged to a close friend of mine.

It all started when I received messages from this account, which seemed entirely legitimate. The conversation was typical of what I would expect from my friend, and there were no immediate red flags. Trusting the person on the other side, I didn’t suspect anything amiss.

However, things took a turn when the conversation led to a financial matter. Believing I was helping my friend, I ended up transferring a significant sum of money – $25,000, to be precise. It was only after the transaction that I realized something was wrong. My friend’s account had been hacked, and I had been communicating with a scammer all along.

I’m aware that the chances of recovering the money are slim, but I’m trying to stay positive and hopeful. I’ve already reported this incident to the appropriate authorities and am waiting to see if there’s anything that can be done.

I’m sharing this experience to raise awareness among this community. Please be extra cautious with online transactions, even if they seem to be with someone you know. Also, if anyone has gone through something similar or has any advice on how to handle this situation, your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Let’s all stay vigilant and support each other in these challenging situations.

      Best regards,
      Eric
