Fake Tech Support That Took Over My Wallet

Ogden

One evening, I had an issue logging into my crypto wallet. Frustrated, I searched for “MetaMask support” on Google and clicked the first link. The website looked identical to MetaMask’s official support page.

A live chat agent named Jessica quickly responded, saying they needed to “remotely access my wallet to fix the problem.” She guided me through a process where I unknowingly:

    Shared my recovery phrase
Granted remote access via a screen-sharing app
Within minutes, my entire wallet was emptied. The Google search result had been a scam ad, and I had just given my private keys to a scammer.
