The “Bonus” Was the Reason He Couldn’t Withdraw

This one is worth knowing because the problem wasn’t a missing password, failed verification, or frozen wallet.

    It was a bonus.

A user deposited $1,000 into a trading platform. Shortly afterwards, the platform added a $500 “welcome bonus” to his account.

    He hadn’t asked for it.

His dashboard now showed $1,500, so naturally it looked like a good deal.

A few weeks later, he requested a withdrawal.

    Rejected.

Support explained that accepting the bonus meant he had agreed to a minimum trading requirement. Until that requirement was completed, neither the bonus nor his original deposit could supposedly be withdrawn.

He asked them to remove the $500 bonus.

    They wouldn’t.

He offered to withdraw only his own funds.

    Still no.

The only suggestion from his account manager was to deposit more money and increase his trading activity.

That’s the part I’d be questioning.

A “free” bonus doesn’t feel particularly free when it becomes the reason you can’t access your own money.

Since reading about situations like this, I’d want to understand three things before accepting any trading promotion:

    Can I refuse the bonus?

Does accepting it change my withdrawal conditions?

What happens to my original deposit if I don’t complete the bonus requirements?

Promotional credit can make an account balance look attractive, but the conditions attached to it matter much more than the number displayed on the screen.

Sometimes the gift isn’t really the benefit.

    It’s the hook.
