The First Withdrawal Worked — That’s What Made the Second Deposit Easier
One detail from a recent scam story caught my attention.
The person didn’t lose money immediately.
He deposited $150 into a trading platform, made a small profit, and requested a withdrawal.
It arrived.
So naturally, his confidence went up.
A few days later, he deposited $500. Another withdrawal worked.
At this point, he wasn’t thinking, “Could this be a scam?”
He was thinking, “I’ve already tested it twice.”
Then the account manager offered access to a supposedly better trading opportunity, but it required a much larger balance.
He eventually deposited several thousand dollars.
That’s when everything changed.
The next withdrawal remained pending. Support said the account needed additional verification. Later, another payment was requested to complete the process.
Looking at the sequence afterwards, those first successful withdrawals seem very important.
They created trust.
Small deposit → successful withdrawal → more confidence → larger deposit → withdrawal problem
I used to think that successfully withdrawing money once was strong evidence that a platform could be trusted.
Now I’m not so sure.
A small withdrawal proves that a small withdrawal happened. It doesn’t guarantee what will happen when significantly more money is involved.
That’s something worth remembering when someone says:
“I know it’s legitimate because they already paid me.”
Maybe they did.
The better question might be what happens next.
